The St. Luke’s Hospital Nursing staff is a group of dedicated individuals who are committed to going the extra mile for their patients. We offer a wide range of service and care to the surrounding community.
Types of Care
We provide nursing care for the following:
- Surgery—Inpatient and outpatient for general, orthopedic (including hand), ophthalmology and urology.
- Intensive Care Unit—Step down
- Medical Surgical Unit—provides care for general medical and post-surgical patients, and occasionally pediatric patients.
- Psychiatric Unit—for geriatric patients.
- Emergency Room—we offer prompt service and timely intervention of life-saving techniques when necessary. Our Emergency Nurses work hand-in hand with the Polk County EMS and assist with the helipad when patients are flown in or out of St. Luke’s Hospital.

- House Supervisors

- Infection Control
- Case Management
- Medicare Data Set Coordinator
- Nurse Managers for each Nursing unit
- Special Projects and JCAHO Coordinator

- 100 Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses
- 50 Certified Nursing Assistants
- 85 % of the nursing staff are Registered Nurses
- 50 % of our nurses have been on staff for 5 years or longer
