Radiology/Cardiology RN - PRN
St. Luke’s Hospital has a new opportunity for an experienced Radiology/Cardiology Registered Nurse! Our hospital is one of very few critical access hospitals in the country that earned 5-Stars in patient satisfaction from CMS in 2020 and we need YOU to help us get to the next level! In this role, you will be part of a progressive team dedicated to advancing the goals of the hospital, meeting the needs of our rural community, and providing outstanding care to our patients. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include but not limited to:
Provides direct patient care, evaluated outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
Ability to monitor hemodynamic status of patient and correctly interpret the results.
Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac monitoring, identifies dysrhythmias, and treats appropriately.
Maintains accurate and continued nursing documentation including patient histories, conditions, treatments, responses, and assessment of changes.
Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs of patients and family. Functions as liaison between administration, patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to the patients served. Able to interpret data about the patient’s status in order to identify each patient’s age specific needs and provide care needed by the patient group.
Interacts professionally with patient and family.
Formulates a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning; includes family in teaching, as appropriate.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
1. Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing with current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina. At least one-year clinical experience preferred.
2. Pursues programs of continuing education consistent with requirements of the hospital.
3. Participates in educational conferences and updates and maintains professional knowledge and skills related to the area of responsibility.
4. Current BLS Certification
5. ACLS Certified within 3 months of hire.
6. NCI (Non-violent Crisis Intervention) or equivalent preferred
