St. Luke's Hospital is currently seeking a PRN House Supervisor to join our team!

Job Summary:
Working as an extension of Administration, the House Supervisor provides direction for nursing care, oversees hospital activities, ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to policies, procedures, standards, and regulations set forth by St. Luke's Hospital.

Essential Functions include but not limited to:
• Works under the direction and supervision of the Director of Acute Care or of the CNO and/or Administration on call in the Director's absence
• Assesses the clinical staffing assignments and makes appropriate adjustment to accommodate patient needs as an ongoing process.
• Maintains a professional and courteous relationship with unit managers and effectively communicates personnel issues or concerns through the appropriate channels for resolution at departmental level.
• Keeps Administration abreast of any ongoing issues that impact the hospital's ability to ensure patient care and safety.
• Appropriately assigns levels of care with bed assignments to all admissions to our Hospital following InterQual guidelines of criteria for severity of illness and intensity of service (using MCG software).
• Makes clinical rounds on a regular basis, assesses each unit's needs and make appropriate decisions, ensures the safe and efficient flow of patient care through the hospital system.
• Utilize the nursing process in the provision of nursing care including but not limited to administering treatments and medications in compliance with the physician's orders and applicable hospital policy, interpreting diagnostic tests, assessing and reassessing the patients level of pain with the appropriate interventions, formulating a plan of care, collaborating with the Interdisciplinary Team Members and providing education to patients and /or significant others (while in compliance with HIPAA)
• Provide care appropriate to patients of all age groups must- demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development through the life span, assess data reflective of the patient's status, and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's needs in relation to age.
• Document/chart observations and activities related to patient care as appropriate. Documents summary of daily activities on supervisor report.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
1. A graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. Supervisory experience preferred.
2. Licensure appropriate to the state of North Carolina and the appropriate certification to the position and St. Luke's Hospital.
3. Proficient oral and written communication skills with the ability to prioritize duties and delegate responsibilities.
4. Interpersonal skills necessary to exchange information and maintain courteous relationships with patients, families, visitors and St. Luke's Hospital employees.
5. BLS, ACLS, PALS required and current, also has the ability to use protective equipment and respond to emergency situations.
6. Basic computer knowledge
7. Physical ability to do the job with attentiveness to detail.
