Respiratory Therapy

The St. Luke's Hospital Respiratory Therapy professionals provide invasive and non-invasive treatments of pulmonary disease and distress. We service patients of all ages on both inpatient and outpatient basis. We provide respiratory care for the entire hospital including the Emergency Room, ICU, Geriatric Psychiatry, Restorative Care and the medical floors. We treat a number of diseases and illnesses that compromise the breathing system including:

Pulmonary Asthma
Bronchitis
Cancer
COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)
Drowning
Smoke Inhalation
Trauma
Circulation Problems
Heart Functions and Rhythms

We can treat such diseases with laboratory and specialized testing including:

Holter Monitor - a 24-hour recording device that measures heart rhythms
PFT - Pulmonary Function Test to measure the capacities and strength of the lungs
Cardiac and Pulmonary Stress Testing - to measure the strength of the heart, determine susceptibility to heart-attack, and to diagnose exercise-induced breathing disorders
Nebuliziation Treatments - to treat pneumonia, asthma and bronchitis
