Keeping
Exceptional Care Close to Home
The St. Luke’s Hospital Foundation, established in 1991, is a network
of highly respected citizens who have joined together to raise funds for
equipment and facility improvements, educational programs, and the Foundations
endowment. As a 501(c)3 organization, a gift to the Foundation is tax
deductible and helps fulfill the commitment to provide exceptional care,
close to home. Your gift can make a difference in the quality of life
for many.
The Foundation has raised funds for patient room renovations, hospital
beds, heart monitors, automated medication dispensing, central registration
and emergency room waiting area and adding digital mammography to the
radiology department.

Ways
to Give
Gifts of Cash
The easiest way to give to St. Luke’s Hospital Foundation is simply
to write a check. You can maximize your charitable deduction and deliver
immediate benefits to us.
Gifts
of Stock
Using stock can be the most tax-effective way of making a gift to the
Foundation. In most cases, the capital gains tax can be avoided and you
get a tax credit for the full current value of your contribution.
Annual
Gifts
A most important source of support for St. Luke’s Hospital is unrestricted
gifts made by individuals and businesses. These annual gifts are applied
to meet the most critical needs for new equipment and underwrite other
priority projects.
Memorial
and Honor Gifts
A memorial gift to St. Luke’s Hospital Foundation is a meaningful
way to remember someone who touched your life in a special way. At the
time of death, many families specify memorials to the Foundation in lieu
of flowers as a way to honor their loved one. An acknowledgement of your
gift will be sent to the individual of your choice, but the amount of
your gift will remain confidential.

for our Endowment Fund. This fund helps keep St. Luke’s Hospital
strong and thriving for years to come and is most often funded with bequests.
Planned
Gifts
Planned or “deferred” gifts present special
opportunities of mutual benefit to the donor and to St. Luke’s Hospital.
They are strategic charitable investments that can provide you with important
tax benefits now and in the future.
Please consider the
following investments, and our foundation staff will be happy to help
you choose which one best fits your wishes:
Gifts
of Appreciated Holdings
These are non-cash gifts such as stocks, bonds and property. They provide
charitable deductions and often offer additional tax savings to donors.
Charitable
Bequests
Donors who include St. Luke’s Hospital in their wills know that
their generosity will support healthcare in Polk County for years to come.
This most fundamental planned gift delivers critically important support
to us every year.
Life-Income
Gifts
These are gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts, providing donors
with an income stream, significant tax savings, and the satisfaction of
supplying St. Luke’s Hospital with vital, long-term philanthropic
resources.
Life
Insurance
You can name us as the beneficiary of a policy on your life or contribute
an old policy that you no longer need. Tax savings are excellent. |
